I am a fan of working out from home and thus have tried almost every fitness streaming program available.  As someone who has personally tried both fitness streaming platforms, I will try to present the similarities and where they differences as well as the pros and cons of each site to help you decide which streaming platform you would prefer without having to go to the trouble of trying both like I have.

First and foremost, both programs are great, and any program that gets people working out and promoting healthy eating habits is a great thing, but the programs are not identical so lets dive in to the Daily Burn vs Beachbody On Demand.

How many workout programs are there?

Beachbody On Demand currently has 103 programs and over 1,100 videos on demand. For a complete list of the workouts you can check out my Beachbody On Demand Review.

Daily Burn currently has 39 programs and over 1,000 workouts on Demand.  It also offers a 30 minute full body workout each day of the week.

Winner : Beachbody On Demand.

Who are the coaches?bj gaddour

Beachbody On Demand seems to have more famous, well known coaches, at least in my opinion, Daily Burn has some high quality famous trainers, just not as many of them.

BeachBody On Demand – Autumn Calabrese, Shaun T, Tony Horton, and Joel Freeman.  For a complete list of the Beachbody on Demand Coaches ou can check out my Beachbody On Demand Review.

Daily Burn has Bob Harper from The Biggest Loser and BJ Gaddour.

Winner: Tie : This is a hard decision because I love Autumn Calabrese, Joel Freeman, Bob Harper, and BJ Gaddour.  I would have to chock this one up as a tie.

What level are the workouts?

Winner : Tie.  Both Beachbody On Demand provide workouts for beginners, intermediate, and advanced.

What program has the better workouts?

Of course this is highly subjective, but in my honest opinion Beachbody On Demand offers much better workout routines.  When I am on Daily Burn, I end of spending so much time looking through all the videos to try and find one that I want to do.  My two favorite coaches are Bob Harper and BJ Gaddour, but the programs that they have Daily Burn are pretty advanced and a lot of days, I don’t feel like doing advanced.  Probably my favorite program is Power Cardio, but there are only 6 videos in that series.  On Beachbody On Demand I like 21 Day Fix, 21 Day Fix Real Time, 3 Week Yoga Retreat, T-25, P90X3, and  LIIFT 4.

Winner : Beachbody On demand

Which program has the better interface / app?

Beachbody On Demand has the option to filter by:

  • Fitness Level – Beginner, Beginner/Intermediate, Intermediate, Intermediate/Advanced, Advanced
  • Time – 0-30, 30-60, 60-90
  • Type – Cardio, Dance, Kids and Family, Low Impact, Muscle Building, Slim and Tone, Yoga
  • Trainer .

Daily Burn has the below filter options:

  • Program
  • Style – Abs core, Barre, Cardio Strength, Dance, Kettlebell, Kickboxing, Mobility, Pilates, Strength, Yoga
  • Trainer
  • Equipment
  • Duration – Short, Medium, Long
  • Difficulty – Easy, Medium, Hard
  • Pace – Slow, Moderate, Fast

Winner : Tie.  Both programs have great filtering options and a great user interface that makes it easy to navigate through quickly and efficiently.  They are very similar, but just use different terminology.

What community support do they provide?Joel Freeman

Beachbody On Demand : Has a BOD Community which is kind of like a forum that has different topics on Recipes and Nurtrition, fitness and workout questions and advise,  Shakeology and Supplements, and other special interests such as Getting Fit over 50, Diabetes, Excercising with a disability, Pregnancy and New Moms, etc.  If you like to feel part of a group, they also have a Group section where you can join different groups.  For example, if you are starting P90X, you can join the P90X group.  Also, when you sign up for Beachbody.com, you are assigned a Beachbody coach for free to help with any questions you may have.

Daily Burn has a community as well which is a Facebook group called Official Daily Burn Community Group.

Winner : Beachbody On Demand

What is the cost of the program

What is the cost of Beachbody On Demand?  $99/year which is $8.25/month.  You also have the option of paying $59/half year which comes out to approximately $9.83/month.

What is the cost of Daily Burn : $14.95

Winner : Beachbody On Demand

Do they Offer A Free Trial?bob harper

Beachbody On Demand – 14 Day Free Trial

Daily Burn – 30 Day Free Trial

Winner : Daily Burn.  And yes, you have to input your credit card number to activate your free trial.  This question gets asked frequently.

The Overall Verdict?

Based on the price, the amount of programs, quality of the program, the community support, I would have to ultimately choose Beachbody On Demand as the overall winner.  I actually own both of them so obviously I think both programs are good enough to pay for, but if I had cut costs and stick with only one, I would have to choose Beachbody On Demand.

I have not tried Daily burn but I have used P90x before. I thought it was pretty good to be fair and I enjoyed Tony Horton’s delivery.

It’s great they both deliver on lots of resources but how do the workouts differ from each other as there are only so many types of exercise combinations you can pout together without gym accessories?

All in all, they both provide excellent workouts.  Dumbbells, a yoga mat, and maybe some resistance bands is the only equipment you need.  There are several that don’t require any equipment, just bring your smile!  Seriously though, if you do try Daily Burn, try one of BJ Gaddour’s Bodyweight Burners which require no equipment and they will wear you out!

Great post, like everyone these days, I’ve been stuck at home and looking for good workout routines online.  I’ll have to check out beach body on demand based on this review.  I like having some community available to post questions and just chat as well, so it seems like a good choice especially since there is a two week trial, which should be plenty of time to know for sure.  I’m also going plant-based these days, do you have any recommendations of vegan protein supplements by any chance?

John, You can buy Shakeology from BeachBody.  They have a vegan shake in all flavors.  Chocolate is my favorite!

I used daily burn for a while before going on to use beach body. daily burn was effective and it offered great help to me but i think there was a little more comfort with beachbody and that is why i stayed with beachbody. thank you for finding time to review these two products. it is awesome.

No problem.  Yes, Beachbody is amazing.  Its hard to find a better product out there for the price.

i always knew that beachbody would emerge the winner. i am probably been biased on my end but with laid out facts, beachbody offers much more than daily burn. daily burn is also superb so it is recommended also. thank you very much for this awesome article. it is really helpful
